Energize the project ready to supply electricity for testing of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant
On the evening of May 15, 2024, the Southern Power Project Management Board coordinated with relevant units to accept and energize the 220kV Line item temporarily connecting Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant – Nhon Trach 1 and 2 branch. – Bau Sen belongs to the 220kV Line project of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant – Long Thanh 500kV Transformer Station.
This category is invested by EVNNPT, managed and operated by the Southern Power Project Management Board, and operated by Power Transmission Company 4.
Scope of energization: 220kV Line 274 Bau Sen – 272 Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant and 220kV Line 256,276 Nhon Trach 1,2 – 271 Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant.

The completion of this item is very important so that Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant will generate test electricity in May 2024 and commercial electricity generation is expected at the end of 2024.
It is known that based on the Decision approving the investment policy of the Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant project of the Prime Minister and the Connection Agreement between EVNNPT and Vietnam Petroleum Power Corporation (PVPower), EVNNPT is implementing Investing in the construction of 3 power grid projects to synchronize and release capacity for Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant, including: 220kV line of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant – Long Thanh 500kV Substation, 220kV Substation of Nhon Trach Industrial Park and connection, 220kV transmission line Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant – branch to My Xuan – Cat Lai.
These are key projects, playing an important role in releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant, strengthening grid connections, and transmitting capacity to serve the socio-economic development of the southern provinces. including Dong Nai province. When the projects come into operation, they will contribute to ensuring energy security and increasing local budget revenue.

However, all three of the above projects during implementation have encountered problems related to updated land use planning, which lacks some locations. At the same time, the projects are not in accordance with Urban Planning according to Decision 455/2016/QD-TTg. Therefore, with the consent of the competent authorities, EVNNPT assigned SPMB to implement the temporary connection project. After a period of urgent construction, the project has now been completed, ready to supply reverse power to serve the test generation of Nhon Trach 3 Thermal Power Plant and ready to release the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Thermal Power Plant when officially generating electricity.
